Spiritual empowerment in Islam
Based on the classical work of Imam Ghazali
The Revival of the Religions Sciences (Ihya ulum al-din) is widely regarded as the greatest work of Muslim spirituality, and has, for centuries, been the most read work after the Qur’an in the Muslim world.
The Revival of the Religious Sciences is divided into four parts each containing ten chapters. The first part deals with knowledge and the requirements of faith—ritual purity, prayer, charity, fasting, pilgrimage, recitation of the Qur’an, etc.; part two concentrates mostly on people and society—the manners relating to eating, marriage, earning a living, friendship, etc.; parts three and four are dedicated to the inner life of the soul and discuss first the vices that people must overcome in themselves and then the virtues that they must strive to achieve.

NEW! [ FIQH203 ] Fiqh of Priorities
Fiqh of priorities is a crucial area of Islamic jurisprudence that deals with the hierarchical nature of Islamic values and principles; it helps us determine what is of primary nature which we ought to take into account while professing and practicing Islam, as opposed to what is secondary or less important. A true grasp of these values is essential for the revitalization of Islamic life at both the individual and collective levels. This study, it is hoped, will enable us to lead amore fulfilling and richer Islamic life.

[ HIST100-6 ] Great Lives - Part Six: Great Companions
Allah says, "The pioneers - those who emigrated and those who (received them) and helped them (to get settled in their new home) - as well as those who follow them in all (good deeds), Allah is well pleased with them, and well pleased are they with Him…." (Qur'an: 9: 100).
There can be no greater honor than what Allah has thus bestowed on the Prophet's companions. They were the ones who learned Islam directly from the mouth of the Prophet, peace be upon him, followed his beautiful examples, and became instruments of guidance. In this course we choose to study some of the prominent companions, and narrate the stories of their struggles and sacrifices, which should serve as abiding sources of inspiration for all believers. Join us as we get to know the great Companions: the great Muslims. All are welcome!
